Mars Rover Sends Back Panoramic Views and First Audio

Perseverance captured its first high-resolution panorama of its surroundings during 

its third day on Mars. Zoom in to see some of the areas mission scientists are keen to explore.

First-of-its-kind footage taken from multiple cameras on the rover, parachute and 

spacecraft lets you experience this Mars landing as if you were riding alongside the 

Perseverance rover.

ORION'S FLIGHT TEST

Send Your Name on NASA's Journey to Mars, Starting with 

Orion's First Flight

NASA is inviting the public to send their names on a microchip 

to destinations beyond low-Earth orbit, including Mars.

Your name will begin its journey on a dime-sized microchip when 

the agency's Orion spacecraft launches Dec. 4 on its first flight, 

designated Exploration Flight Test-1. After a 4.5-hour, two-orbit 

mission around Earth to test Orion's systems, the spacecraft will 

travel back through the atmosphere at speeds approaching 20,000 

mph and temperatures near 4,000 degrees Fahrenheit, before 

splashing down in the Pacific Ocean.

But the journey for your name doesn't end there. After returning to 

Earth, the names will fly on future NASA exploration flights and 

missions to Mars. With each flight, selected individuals will accrue 

more miles as members of a global space-faring society.

Astronaut. In Station Spacewalk Game you'll experience 

the thrill of conducting NASA repair work on the International 

Space Station. After negotiating your way through the airlock, 

you, the astronaut, will be tasked with jobs critical to help power 

up the space station so it can continue to operate. First take your 

time to explore the station, but then it's time to get to work. 

You'll have to move quickly and carefully, with a limited quantity 

of oxygen you must complete your Extravehicular Activities (EVAs) 

and get back into the airlock before your air supply runs out.

This video game features simulations of actual EVAs conducted by 

NASA astronauts on missions to provide power to the space station. 

The graphics used in this game are based on real NASA missions and 

incorporate 3D graphics used by the Agency.
