This is a great infographic that shows the difference between 
blended and Flipped classrooms.
To sum up a blended learning classroom is where a portion of the class 
is replaced by online activities.
The flipped classroom is where the traditional class activity is
delivered outside of class hours.  During class time the students concentrate
on smaller group problem - solving and other activities.

so when they come to class we can do something to use that content knowledge.
