Microsoft SongSmith

Microsoft SongSmith

Microsoft Research Songsmith is a musical accompaniment
application for Microsoft Windows. Songsmith immediately
generates a musical accompaniment after a voice is recorded.
The user can adjust tempo, genre (such as pop, R&B,
hip-hop, rock, jazz, or reggae), and overall mood
(e.g. to make it happy, sad, jazzy, etc.)

Very cool

ck12.org

ck12.org

This is really a fantastic website.  The CK-12 Foundation provides
a library of free online textbooks, videos, exercises, flashcards,
and real world applications.  Once you have registered, which is quick and easy,
you can then pick a topic.

I picked basic geometry for this example.

I started with the 2 page worksheet that explained the various definitions.
Click the button below to get the file.

You can then click on other reading material, which I
thought was very good.  Here is a screen capture of one
of the reading materials.

You can then look at various videos that you can show to your class.

There are 54 different things that you can do in this section.

This is really fantastic, make sure that you have a look
at all the different sections so that you can benefit from
all of these great resources!!

Microsoft Word Shortcuts

Microsoft Word Shortcuts

Most of us are familiar with the normal Word shortcuts.
The ones I use the most are:
Ctrl +B = Bold
Ctrl + I = Italic
Ctrl + V = Paste
Ctrl + A = Select all
Ctrl + C = Copy
Ctrl + Y = Redo the last action you performed
Ctrl + Z = Undo the last action you performed
Ctrl + S = Save

This is a great graphic showing the rest of the shortcuts.

Brilliant!!

Web 1.0 - 3.0 comparison

Web 1.0 - 3.0 comparison

We have been educated in a 1.0 education model.
We are teaching in a 2.0 model but our students
are living in a 3.0 model. These three models
chronicle the major paradigmatic shifts that education
has witnessed over the last century.

This is a great chart that shows the differences between them.

Although I use Google Apps, Microsoft, as well as dropbox, I find that
SpiderOak is very easy to use.  On the free version I get 2GB of space.
It runs on Windows, Mac, Linux 32 and 64bit, Android and iOS.
There is also no file size limit which is great!
