World Geography Games is a site that features twenty-five games. 

The games are simple identification games in which students are 

shown the name of a country, state, city, or geographic feature 

and then have to click on the correct locations. 

Students earn points for each correct answer. 

World Geography Games tracks how many attempts students 

make at correctly answering each question.

Quizlet is a website where users can create, share, and study flashcards. 

Users can make a study set on the internet and then study them on a 

computer or using the free Quizlet iOS app. The app is compatible 

with iPhone and iPod touch. Teachers can also make a study sets for 

their classes. Quizlet also offers pre-made flashcard sets for popular 

vocabulary books, SAT vocabulary, and more. Flashcards can also 

include images to aid in studying. Once the study set is open you can 

view the terms in list mode or in flashcard mode.

Create video based quizzes with this useful site and share them online with your class.
Search for YouTube videos within the site and crop the section you what to use.
Then enter your questions and multiple correct & wrong choices to build the quiz.

Socrative

Socrative

 Socrative and makes clickers all but redundant.
All that is required is that students have smartphones and access to the internet.
As with so many of these apps, I cannot believe that Socrative is free.
Quizzes come in multiple formats, and are dead easy to set up.
Socrative works across all ‘phones and platforms, and provides the teacher with live feedback as students complete quizzes.
Results are emailed quickly and easily.

GAMEADAY.COM is an award-winning game and puzzle site that's fun for kids of all ages.
The site looks rather simple, but don't let that fool you.
The complexity's been saved for the thousands of word, trivia, memory, spelling, and other games here.
The challenges are doled out in daily doses of one per each of the two levels.
But if you're on a roll, click on a previous or future day of the month and keep playing!

University of North Carolina Wilmington’s Ed Games website hosts a variety of free PowerPoint,
Word, and Excel games that are really easy to use on your IWB to add quizzes to motivate your
students. Many of the games are easy for teachers to customize with their own content.

Once you have customized the game, you can save it for future use and also share it with other
colleagues.  There are also some games that are ready to use without any modification. 
Many of the games replicate popular TV shows like Jeopardy and Pyramid

Unlike some PowerPoint games available on free the web, all of these games are trade mark
free and copyright clear. So you should have no worries about using trademarked or copyright
protected images and sounds without permission.

Infuse Learning is a new assessment service. It allows teachers to set up quizzes with pictures,  which the students can answer via any device which can connect to the internet – whether that’s a laptop, netbook, iPod, iPad or other tablet device. Like Socrative it is a fantastic addition to a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) classroom.

As well as the quizzes you can set up and save, you can also add Quick Assessment questions which can be given to the class at any point in a lesson. These can be quick True/False, Multiple Choice and Numeric answers and Likert Scale answers. There’s also the option for students to draw a picture as their response to a question, which is an interesting addition which would work well for students with touchscreen and tablet devices.
